REEF ATLAS PROJECT

We are proud to announce that this year's Wildside Dive Festival has taken its role in conservation one step further by adding a Reef Atlas Competition. The Reef Atlas Project aims to map all the rocky and coral reefs, kelp beds and wrecks of South Africa using GPS coordinates and underwater landscape photography.

Prizes will be given for the best photographs that meet the criteria of the project, while still incorporating the principles of good photography. The competition will be judged by Ms Prideel Majiedt, the project coordinator of the Reef Atlas Project, along with Dr Ronel Nel, respected researcher in reef biology from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

NOTE: GPS coordinates will not be necessary for competition entries.
